Job Overview
Edward Jones proudly serves over 190,000 Canadians and spans 660 branches with more than 870 advisors across the country. As one of the largest independent wealth services providers in the country, we have ambitious plans to help many more Canadians improve their financial wellness through comprehensive advice and planning. Over the past 6+ years, our assets under care have more than doubled and we’re making significant investments in our people, technology, products and capabilities to help our clients achieve their goals. With momentum on our side, we have big ambitions to serve many more Canadians and reach $100 billion in assets under care, and 1,000 advisors by 2030. Simply put, we believe our future is bright!
Financial Advisors partner with clients to help them achieve their long-term financial goals: retirement, building wealth, estate strategies, funding education and more. As a financial advisor with Edward Jones, you’ll develop and grow your own practice, supported by a client support team, a home-office team and other regional financial advisors. You’ll benefit from the experience that comes with our rich history.
Our Financial Advisors are valued partners, and we credit much of our success to their unique experiences and professional backgrounds. We value an inclusive environment where everyone’s different viewpoints help to achieve results. Financial advisors lead the branch team to serve clients and contribute to the firm’s purpose. They deeply understand the client’s goals and why they are important to accelerate trust and help them stay on track. Edward Jones helps you positively impact clients’ lives and work together to achieve their long-term financial goals, enabling you to make a difference in your community.
A Culture of Trust, Partnership and Support
Edward Jones has built a culture of camaraderie – advisor-led leadership and an ecosystem of trust and collaboration, where advisors help each other succeed. Regional leaders and home-office teams support advisors in their growth, while a Client Support Team handles daily operations, allowing advisors to focus on the unique needs of their clients. You’ll also be provided with expert advice from top-tier market analysts, specialized support for the complex of your clients, ongoing training, and a wealth of resources to help you grow your practice.
More Earnings Potential and Other Rewards
We believe in a compensation model that values your autonomy, rewards your dedication, and celebrates client-focused results. This includes a stable commission grid, up to three profitability bonuses per year, profit sharing, opportunity for limited partnership, and luxury trips around the world to enjoy with your family and colleagues.
Freedom to Grow Your Business on Your Terms
At Edward Jones, our unique structure enables you to run your practice in a way that aligns with your values and your growth ambitions. No micromanagement, no imposed sales targets, no shareholder pressures, your sole focus is working in the best interest of your clients’ goals.

Joshua Bowden
Financial Advisor, Sault Ste. Marie, ON
In 2004, I was a single parent supporting three young girls. I worked for a not-for-profit organization, and my income was not enough to support a family…Initially, I joined the firm to increase my income, or at least have some control over it. Although I worked very hard to build my business, I had the freedom to control my schedule and my income.

HR? Marketing? Operations? You’ve got the skills. We’ve got the team. We are a large firm with many areas of expertise but each division is small enough for you to make an impact. And you can test the waters in other areas. We encourage it. Learning new skills and gaining leadership experience along the way.

When it comes to your
compensation,
we want to be clear.
#1 Your performance drives your compensation – and we won’t limit it with earning caps. Not now, not ever.
#2 Our compensation is competitive and multi-faceted. Commissions and trimester bonuses – based on individual branch and firm profitability – make up the bulk of your variable income. But your total payout may include travel awards and profit sharing. And the opportunity to be rewarded for transitioning client relationships to financial advisors looking to grow.
#3 Our compensation is simple and transparent. We make it easy to understand how you are rewarded and strive to minimize grid changes. You know exactly what to expect and how to impact your results.
Our partnership structure frees you to focus on your clients.
Being a partnership makes us distinctly different from our competitors. More than a structure, it’s a mindset. And it permeates every aspect of our business. From how we work with each other – think collaboration not competition – to our long-term investment philosophy. It’s most at work in our shared focus on doing what’s right for the client. And it’s easy for us to do. Because we have no competing interests. No shareholders clamoring for short-term profits. We can take the long view, because we only answer to our clients. And to ourselves. Our financial advisors find this single-minded focus freeing. A clear mandate for success. And a clear path to get there.
Transitioning your
practice is a difficult
decision.
We’re here to help.
Moving your practice to another firm may be the most stressful decision of your professional life. We understand. And our transition team is here to help. From early days when you are just beginning to consider the opportunity. To that glorious first day of opening your practice. And our support is not one-size-fits-all. We will tailor your transition to you and your practice – with you leading the way. Ensuring a smooth transition for you and your clients. And a solid path forward for next-level growth.
Investing in You
As a valued branch-team member, you will share in the success of your branch – and the firm. Our market competitive compensation program recognizes your individual contributions, promotes a long-term career, contributes to your financial security and promotes the well-being of you and your family.

I was a high school teacher. When I decided I wanted to make a career change at 36, I looked at all of the skills I brought to the table – planning, problem solving and, most importantly, building relationships. Financial advisor was one of the future in-demand professions, and when I looked at what it took to be a good advisor, it matched my list of strengths.
