Would you call yourself a relationship builder, a problem solver or a business partner? If you answered yes, we need you on our team.
At Edward Jones, we are very intentional in calling our field associates branch teams. Most of our teams are two or three people, and in a Client Support Team Professional role you are a critical member of that team along with the financial advisor. You are the first voice a client hears when they call on the phone – the first face they see when they walk in the door. You have many responsibilities, but the most important is getting to know your clients so well that you not only help them identify their problems – you see them coming a mile away. You are a trusted business partner to your financial advisor. Working together to help your clients achieve their most cherished financial goals.
Job Overview
Position Schedule: Full-Time
Branch Address: 10715 Sikes Pl Suite 110, Charlotte, NC
There’s power in partnership. It’s how we work – and how we help our clients achieve financial fulfillment. Demand for human-delivered, personalized financial advice has never been greater – and right now, qualified financial advisors are in short supply. If you’re a driven professional ready to build something meaningful, this is your moment to step into a career with real impact, firm-wide support and long-term growth potential.
As an associate financial advisor at Edward Jones, you’ll work with the broader practice team – collaborating with one or more financial advisors and client support teammates – to deliver personalized financial strategies and exceptional client service. In partnership with the financial advisor, you’ll play a critical role in sourcing new clients, building and maintaining client relationships and contributing to the practice’s overall business outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Build and deepen client relationships by supporting discovery conversations, gathering key financial information, and helping advance personalized financial plans aligned with client goals and priorities
- Support comprehensive financial planning by preparing analysis, modeling scenarios, and helping align investments to client goals, life events, and long‑term priorities
- Guide portfolio strategy and implementation by researching performance, allocation, and costs; preparing proposals; and supporting investment adjustments in alignment with suitability and firm guidance
- Partner with the financial advisor and practice team to deliver ongoing financial planning, including monitoring progress, preparing reviews, and adjusting strategies as client needs evolve
- Contribute to client and practice growth by supporting outreach, referrals, and community engagement that introduces clients to a relationship‑based financial planning experience
As a salaried professional, you can also expect…
- A culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Full-time Associates receive the following benefits:
- Edward Jones’ compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm’s Employee Assistance Program. For more information on the Benefits available to Edward Jones associates, please visit our benefits page.
You’ll be competitively compensated…
- Edward Jones believes in a human centered approach as we partner for positive impact, to improve the lives of our clients, colleagues, and communities.
- The hiring minimum and maximum range shown below is a subset of the total pay range. There is also an opportunity for merit-based salary increases as you progress in the Associate Financial Advisor role.
Hiring Minimum: $65000.00
Hiring Maximum: $70400
Skills/Requirements
What experience you’ll need
- A bachelor’s degree, equivalent professional experience, or a background in financial services, sales, or a field that has developed your ability to build relationships and achieve results
- Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, client relationship management, or a role requiring strong interpersonal communication skills
- Self-motivation and a strong drive to achieve goals – you hold yourself accountable and thrive in a performance-oriented environment
- Clear, confident communication skills – able to simplify complex concepts and guide meaningful client conversations
- Willingness to obtain Series 7, Series 66, and state insurance licenses within three months of hire – all licensing is fully sponsored and supported by Edward Jones
- Comfort learning and applying financial planning software and digital engagement tools
What could set you apart
- Partial securities licensing (such as the SIE exam) is a genuine plus – but please don’t let an incomplete licensing profile stop you from applying. If you bring strong sales instincts or a passion for financial services, we want to hear from you
- 3–5 years of experience in financial services, investment advisory or wealth management
- CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation or active progress toward it
- Familiarity with financial planning tools such as MoneyGuide or Salesforce

In 2004, I was a single parent supporting three young girls. I worked for a not-for-profit organization, and my income was not enough to support a family…Initially, I joined the firm to increase my income, or at least have some control over it. Although I worked very hard to build my business, I had the freedom to control my schedule and my income.

When it comes to your
compensation,
we want to be clear.
#1 Your performance drives your compensation – and we won’t limit it with earning caps. Not now, not ever.
#2 Our compensation is competitive and multi-faceted. Commissions and trimester bonuses – based on individual branch and firm profitability – make up the bulk of your variable income. But your total payout may include travel awards and profit sharing. And the opportunity to be rewarded for transitioning client relationships to financial advisors looking to grow.
#3 Our compensation is simple and transparent. We make it easy to understand how you are rewarded and strive to minimize grid changes. You know exactly what to expect and how to impact your results.
Our partnership structure frees you to focus on your clients.
Being a partnership makes us distinctly different from our competitors. More than a structure, it’s a mindset. And it permeates every aspect of our business. From how we work with each other – think collaboration not competition – to our long-term investment philosophy. It’s most at work in our shared focus on doing what’s right for the client. And it’s easy for us to do. Because we have no competing interests. No shareholders clamoring for short-term profits. We can take the long view, because we only answer to our clients. And to ourselves. Our financial advisors find this single-minded focus freeing. A clear mandate for success. And a clear path to get there.
Transitioning your
practice is a difficult
decision.
We’re here to help.
Moving your practice to another firm may be the most stressful decision of your professional life. We understand. And our transition team is here to help. From early days when you are just beginning to consider the opportunity. To that glorious first day of opening your practice. And our support is not one-size-fits-all. We will tailor your transition to you and your practice – with you leading the way. Ensuring a smooth transition for you and your clients. And a solid path forward for next-level growth.
Investing in You
As a valued branch-team member, you will share in the success of your branch – and the firm. Our market competitive compensation program recognizes your individual contributions, promotes a long-term career, contributes to your financial security and promotes the well-being of you and your family.

I was a high school teacher. When I decided I wanted to make a career change at 36, I looked at all of the skills I brought to the table – planning, problem solving and, most importantly, building relationships. Financial advisor was one of the future in-demand professions, and when I looked at what it took to be a good advisor, it matched my list of strengths.
